Students from accepted ISDs may gain admission to FWAFA by completing an application and auditioning. Students and parents may submit applications for the next school year during the open enrollment period in January, at which time the students will be assigned to their auditions. FWAFA accepts new students at every grade level starting in 3rd grade - but please keep in mind that acceptance is limited due to small class sizes.
First thing is to just remember to breathe! Even for the most confident performer, an audition can be daunting. At FWAFA, we get that – and strive to make our application and audition process a positive experience for aspiring artists. Students may audition in choir, dance, theater or the visual arts. Elementary and middle school students must choose two of these artistic areas in which to audition. High school students must audition in one artistic area. All auditions take place on the FWAFA campus. Applicants will be scored on a rubric for their chosen artistic disciplines, then ranked according to grade level to determine acceptance or placement on the wait lists. Students must meet a minimum required score for acceptance. Students will not receive a copy of their completed rubric or score.
