TEXAS BOYS CHOIR PRESENTS CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL CONCERTS

Fort Worth, TX—Texas Boys Choir (TBC) is presents its annual Christmas Festival Concerts for the 2014 holiday season: Salvation is Created. This popular offering of sacred music brings holiday spirit to the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the seventh consecutive year under the direction of S. Bryan Priddy. TBC has performed Christmas concerts since its inception in 1946, following the longstanding tradition of boychoir performances for the Christmas season. Tickets for all performances are immediately available online at www.TexasBoysChoir.org/tickets.

TBC will perform its Christmas Festival Concert in three churches in the Metroplex from December 9 through December 18. In addition to its “hometown” performance at Arborlawn United Methodist Church in Fort Worth, TBC will also perform at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Dallas and Spring Valley United Methodist Church in North Dallas.

Salvation Is Created is loosely based on the structure of the Anglican service of Lessons and Carols that was first presented at King’s College, Cambridge on Christmas Eve in 1918. The service recounts the story of Christmas through the reading of scripture and the singing of carols. The tradition of boychoirs singing at Christmastide predates the Anglican service of Lessons and Carols by more than 500 years. The choir will perform a variety of ancient and modern sacred music as well as familiar carols, which the audience is invited to sing.

Texas Boys Choir was founded to provide any boy, regardless of socio-economic or ethnic background, a structured environment in which to learn the fundamentals of world-class vocal performance.  Since its founding, the Choir has performed for Popes, U.S. Presidents, kings and other heads of state. With countless accolades, including two GRAMMY© awards, and more than 40 professional recordings, TBC continues to earn its reputation as one of the premier boychoirs in the world and as one of Fort Worth’s cultural gems.

Tickets are $15 at the door for adults and $7 for children. Tickets may be purchased in advance online or over the phone; $13 for adults, $5 for kids.
