Organizaton Receives $100,000 Grant Award To Fund Theater Acquisitions At Texas School of the Arts

FORT WORTH, TX—Texas Boys Choir, Inc., the non-profit organization that supports Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts, Texas Boys Choir and Texas School of the Arts, has received a $100,000 grant from the Kathleen Connors Trust through PlainsCapital Bank. The grant will fund a complete lighting and sound system for the theater at Texas School of the Arts (TeSA) and allow for the purchase of a performance piano. The grant was awarded at a private reception held at River Crest Country Club on Thursday, February 26.

Eurydice Gives Contemporary Twist On Classic Love Story

FORT WORTH, TX—Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (FWAFA) brings a luminous retelling of the classical Orpheus myth to the stage February 20-21 in its visually stunning production of the emotional tale Eurydice, by celebrated playwright Sarah Ruhl. Ruhl’s version reimagines the story through the eyes of its heroine, Eurydice. After dying on her wedding day, she journeys to the underworld, where she reunites with her father and tries to remember her lost love, Orpheus. With contemporary characters, clever plot twists and breathtaking visual effects including a raining elevator and flowing water on stage, the audience will experience a fresh look at this timeless love story.
