ELLIE LIN INTERIM ARTISTIC DIRECTOR OF TEXAS BOYS CHOIR,
BEGINS SEARCH FOR ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Interim Artistic Director equipped and excited for upcoming China Tour
FORT WORTH, Texas – March 29, 2017 – Clint Riley, President and Chief Executive Officer at Texas Center for
Arts + Academics (TXCAA), has announced the appointment of Ellie Lin, former Associate Artistic Director, as
Interim Artistic Director of Texas Boys Choir.
Ellie Lin received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Choral Conducting and Music Education from the
Eastman School of Music. Other positions Ms. Lin has held include Conductor of the Pinnacle Choristers, Conductor
of Southwest Christian School High School Choir in Fort Worth, and Piano Instructor at the University of Charleston in West Virginia.
As a conductor, Ms. Lin led the Great Land Choral Society to successful, internationally televised concert
performances in Vienna in 2012, in Taiwan in 2010 and China in 2008. Prior to that, she twice led another choir,
Good Earth Singers, on concert tours to China and Taiwan in 2004 and 2006. In addition to conducting and
accompanying, Ms. Lin is a popular piano teacher, a member of the Fort Worth Teachers Association, and is certified as a professional Chinese interpreter and translator.
Riley makes the announcement upon accepting the resignation of Mr. S. Bryan Priddy, who steps down from his
role as Artistic Director of Texas Boys Choir (TBC) after eight remarkable years.
“We take this opportunity to thank Mr. Priddy for his talent, skill, dedication, and professionalism as Artistic
Director since August 2008,” said TXCAA board chair Michael W. Wellbaum. “Under his guidance, Texas Boys Choir has reasserted itself as a leading boychoir, receiving accolades wherever we tour. Mr. Priddy’s work has elevated TBC and paved the way for continued growth at the culmination of our 70 Years of Excellence.”
Texas Center for Arts + Academics will begin an immediate nationwide search for TBC's next Artistic Director and
expects no disruptions from recent leadership changes to Texas Boys Choir’s much anticipated China Tour in July.
“Ms. Lin is a natural choice to take the lead for the China Tour in July,” said TXCAA President and Chief
Executive Officer, Clint Riley. “She will not only bring her talent for choral conducting and strong working history with the boy choir, but also her skills as a certified Chinese interpreter and translator.”
