About Us

The Texas Boys Choir, led by S. Bryan Priddy, was founded in 1946 by George Bragg to provide any boy, regardless of socio-economic or ethnic background a structured environment for the development of a world-class performing choir of boys. Essential to this development is the artistic training in an accredited academic institution; experienced teachers instill the qualities of self-discipline, self-confidence, decorum, patriotism, and leadership.

To join the choir, you must attend our school, the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts. Choir members audition for enrollment and then audition for the choir.

Pergolesi: Magnificat and Stabat Mater is a recording that came to be as a result of collaborative efforts between two of Fort Worth's premiere performing organizations. Several recordings exist of these two famous works. However, there are no known complete recordings of these works that have been recorded by an all-boys choir, including the solo movements performed by boys, and recorded at Baroque pitch on Baroque instruments. From a performance perspective, this recording attempts to fill all of these parameters. In addition, the inclusion of complementary instrumental selections by Schmelzer and Corelli provide opportunity to record beautiful Baroque works that may be lesser known, but that deserve more recognition and exposure.
