The Texas Boys Choir (TBC) announces its National Tour which is set to begin on June 6 with an eleven-night, twelve day tour of the New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. The highlight of the tour is a Carnegie Hall residence, where the boys will perform a solo prelude concert on June 14, followed by a mass choir performance the same day with full orchestra. Prior to their Carnegie Hall residence in New York City, the Choir will tour other cities in New York state—Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, and Albany—performing afternoon workshops at universities (Eastman School of Music, Syracuse University) and evening concerts in collaboration with local youth music organizations (Buffalo Niagara Youth Chorus and Rochester Boys Choir). Following its Carnegie Hall performance, the Choir travels to New Haven, Connecticut, visiting Yale University before concluding its tour with a final mid-day concert in Boston, Massachusetts and tour of Harvard University and other scenic sites.

In preparation for this tour, the Choir has recorded two CDs. The first is a recording of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and Magnificat. The unique aspect of this recording is that all voice parts and solos are performed by members of the boychoir. Scheduled for release in fall of 2009 under the MSR Classics independent label, the Pergolesi recording is a collaborative effort between the Texas Boys Choir and Texas Camerata, a nationally recognized early music instrumental ensemble. The second CD, Seasons of Song, will be released in conjunction with the National Tour, and is designed to highlight many of the popular wedding and tour selections for which the choir is well known.

The new Artistic Director, S. Bryan Priddy, spoke of his plans for TBC, “The Texas Boys Choir holds a unique position among boy choirs in the United States. It is regarded as one of the premiere ensembles for boy singers. My primary goal is to build on the choir's heritage and move this ensemble, which has the capability to perform virtually any repertoire due to its inclusion of changed voices, from one of the finest boychoirs in the United States to one that will rank among the finest choirs in the world, judged by any standard.”

Board President, Steve Johnson, said, "The board is encouraged by Priddy’s vision for what can be achieved under his leadership and experience." Priddy feels that “The Texas Boys Choir is destined for great musical accomplishments. I am both honored and humbled by the invitation to join the TBC staff and also the fine staff at the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts. I look forward to working with the boys, the Academy, the Board of Directors, and the community at large as we develop the full potential of this rare and unique musical gem called the Texas Boys Choir.
